Boston has tremendous amount of activities that both of you can enjoy on everyday or weekly basis, but there are some very special events that happen only once… BLIND, Argentine Tango show with live music and 3-course dinner is certainly opportunity you do not want to miss.
The Argentine tango show “Blind”, directed by Ana Padron and Diego Blanco from the New York City-based company “Tango for All”, will hold its premier performance in the Boston area on August 4th at Ultimate Tango Dance School in Medford. The dance will be accompanied by live music from the Pedro Giraudo Quartet, directed by multiple Grammy Award-winning bassist and composer Pedro Giraudo. Tickets include table seating, refreshments and a three-course dinner.
‘Blind’ is a study of emotion. You will walk out of “Blind” mesmerized by boleos, ganchos, sacadas as well as various lifts typical to tango escanario (stage tango), but what will truly impress you is how well the dancers connect with one another.
Dance critic Daniel South from Exploring Tango wrote, “Blind” is an adventurous and enjoyable production. It’s definitely not your father’s tango show. It’s bold. It’s daring. It takes chances and delivers a satisfying emotional payoff.”
Tango show with dinner is a very characteristic of Buenos Aires tango scene. Some consider it very touristy, but nonetheless whenever the new show opens everyone goes to see it at least once. There is something unforgettable, charming and unique about fancy dishes being served to you by waiters, elegant outfit you are wearing for this special evening, live music and musicians sharing their talents right next to you and then, just when the glass of Malbec and the perfect cup of coffee with the delicious slice of cake arrives the lights come down and the show begins.
Dancers and musicians will join the audience shortly after the show for the glass of champagne, photos and discussion. Ana Padron and Diego Blanco, dancers and creators of BLIND, Pedro Giraudo, multiple Grammy Award-winning bassist, composer and creator of the music, will be there to answer any questions.
The PLATINUM tickets ($100 early bird option) include seat at the first row table, 3-course dinner, glass of Malbec, unlimited soft drinks and unlimited sangria to keep your evening cheerful.
The original music of the show, South stated, “is tasteful and elegant and follows the dynamic changes of the performance brilliantly. Mr. Giraudo brings a bassist’s sensitivity to his compositions and arrangements. The music supports the conceptual motives of the production without ever getting in the way or taking focus away from the dancers.”
